Indian Navy Day is being celebrated today. Addressing a press conference on the eve of Navy day in New Delhi yesterday, Navy Chief Admiral Sunil Lamba said the Indian Navy is the net security provider in the Indian Ocean region and is fully capable to meet the traditional and non-traditional threats.




 

 

Army Chief General Bipin Rawat, Air Chief Marshal BS Dhanoa and Indian Navy Chief Admiral #SunilLanba pay homage at the Amar Jawan Jyoti, India Gate, in New Delhi today. President Ram Nath Kovind, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Defence Minister Nirmala Sitharaman greeted Indian Navy on this occasion.





 

 Navy Day in India is celebrated to commemorate the courageous attack on the Karachi harbor during the Indo-Pakistan war (on 4 December 1971) by the Indian Naval Missile boats as well as to reverence all the martyrs of that war. The Indian Navy is the marine branch of the Indian Armed Forces and is led by the President of India as Commander-in-Chief.
