Uttarakhand Assembly tables supplementary budget of Rs 2,452 crore

Dehradun, December 6: The Uttarakhand government on Tuesday tabled its supplementary budget of Rs 2,452.41 crore in the assembly to meet the additional expenditure for the financial year 2018-19.


 

Education, arts and youth were also allocated Rs 206.06 in the budget.While Rs 218 crore has been allotted for rural development; the forest department will receive Rs 21.39 crore, Rs 40.02 crore for animal husbandry, Rs 16.35 crore for industries, Rs 14.44 crore for transport and Rs 6.24 crore for tourism. Similarly, a provision of Rs 223.93 crore has been made for PWD, Rs 218 crore for rural development, Rs 48 crore for irrigation and flood control and Rs 10 crore for energy. This includes Rs 261.96 crore for salaries and Rs 228.3 crore for clearing the pensions.

”The main focus of the budget is on development works with Rs 170 crore being allocated for road construction, Rs 100 crore for PM Gram Sadak Yojna and Rs 30 crore for irrigation projects. DEHRADUN: Finance minister Prakash Pant on Tuesday tabled a supplementary budget of Rs 2,452 crore in the assembly on the first day of the winter session, with a special focus on education and development projects.

Minister Pant said, “The supplementary budget has been divided into two parts – Rs 1,706 crore for revenue expenses and Rs 746 crore for capital expenses. A total of Rs 70.98 crore has been allotted for welfare of scheduled castes and Rs 38.01 crore for welfare of scheduled tribes.Further breakup shows that the budget has a provision of Rs 16 crore for state financial management strengthening project which will also be aided by the World Bank.
