Uttarakhand CM announces to recruit over 1,000 Home Guards

Dehradun, December 7: Uttarakhand will have one thousand male and female Home Guards in the State soon as Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat has announced about their recruitment on Thursday. He also approved increase allocation in the welfare fund for the dependents of the Home Guards soldiers, who sacrificed their lives on duty.


 

Expecting participation by the home guards and Civil Defence personnel in the rejuvenation of Rispana River, Chief Minister said that that "Rispana to Rishiparna" mission will surely be successful with the widespread public participation and Rispana will be revived.

Speaking at the Programme organized on the occasion of the Raising Day of Home Guards and Civil Defence Organization at Home Guards Directorate, in Dehradun today, Chief Minister said that with hard work, dedication and selfless spirit, the Jawans of home guards are discharging important responsibility of maintaining peace, law and order, traffic management, fairs and cultural programmes.

 

On the occasion, Commandant General Additional Director General of Police Ram Singh Meena said that presently, 5300 Home Guards are providing services across the state. During the formation of the state, the number of home guards was 17 percent, which is now 95 percent.
