New Delhi, February 1: The latest 2018-19 budget will definitely bring relief to lower middle and poor class citizens. Vision of Budget 18-19 reflects the old proverb health is wealth. l launch a flagship National Health Protection Scheme to cover over 10 crore poor and vulnerable families (approximately 50 crore beneficiaries) providing coverage upto 5 lakh rupees per family per year for secondary and tertiary care hospitalization.
The National Health Policy, 2017 which has envisioned Health and Wellness Centres as the foundation of India’s health system, has been allocated 1200 crore INR . These 1.5 lakh centres will bring health care system closer to the homes of people.
To provide quality medical education in health care, government will set up 24 new govt. Medical Colleges by upgrading existing District Hospitals. This will ensure at least 1 medical college per every 3 constituency & one medical college in each state in country.
TB claims more lives every year than any other infectious disease.It affects mainly poor and malnourished people. Government has, therefore, decided to allocate additional `600 crore to provide nutritional support to all TB patients at the rate of `500 per month for the duration of their treatment.
