India is an attractive destination to do business, says PM Modi to 70 top businessmen of Oman

Muscat, February 12: Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited four countries in just four days in a bid to strengthen India’s footprint and bilateral relations with Gulf and West Asia. PM Modi on Monday pitched India as an attractive destination to do business after he held a meeting with around 70 business delegates of Oman in capital Muscat.

 

Notably, on the final day of his 4-day visit to Gulf and West Asian countries, PM Modi held an extensive talk with around 70 business delegates of Oman in capital Muscat in a meeting and pitched India as an attractive destination to do business. PM Modi also complemented the expanding strategic partnership between India and Oman.

External Affairs Ministry spokesperson Raveesh Kumar said in a tweet that during the meeting the Prime Minister also complemented the expanding strategic partnership between India and Oman. He said, “4 countries in 4-days strengthening our footprint in Gulf and West Asia! PM @narendramodi begins Day 4 with business - Oman-India Business Meet in Muscat. Pitching India as an attractive destination to do business, complementing our expanding strategic partnership.”


After meeting the business delegates, PM Modi held talks with Oman’s Deputy Prime Minister for International Relations and Co-operation Affairs, Sayyid Asa’ad bin Tariq Al Said and Deputy Prime Minister for the Council of Ministers, Sayyid Fahd bin Mahmood Al-Said for the intensification of bilateral cooperation in areas of mutual interest.



The Prime Minister also visited the famous Shiva Temple of Muscat. The Shiva temple was constructed by the Merchant community from Gujarat settled in Muscat centuries ago. The temple is originally 100 years old but it was renovated in 1999 for devotees to worship. PM Modi also visited the Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque, which is Oman’s main mosque. The mosque took six years to build and was completed in 2001. It covers a massive area and can hold up to 20,000 worshippers.



Importantly, PM Modi reached Oman yesterday and met Oman Sultan Qaboos bin Said al Said and held wide-ranging talks that borne signing eight agreements which cater fields like defence, health, tourism, space etc. PM Modi also addressed the Indian Diaspora in Muscat. Earlier, PM Modi traveled to Ramallah and became the first Indian Prime Minister to visit Palestine. Further, he visited the UAE, before arriving in Oman.
