Rajnath Singh directs to check infiltration attempts strictly while reviewing security situation in JK

New Delhi, February 13: Amidst terrorist attack in Karan Nagar area of Srinagar, Home Minister Rajnath Singh on Monday reviewed the security situation in Jammu and Kashmir. During the meeting, HM Rajnath Singh directed the officials that action must be taken to check infiltration attempts from across the border.

 

Notably, HM Rajnath Singh chaired a high-level meeting with the top officials of security forces and reviewed the situation of Jammu and Kashmir. During an hour-long meeting, the top officials of security forces gave a detailed presentation about the situation in Jammu and Kashmir, particularly about the attack on an army camp in Jammu and a gunfight between security forces and terrorists in Srinagar.

Minister Rajnath Singh was also apprised that the highest level of security has been put in place in the entire state and steps were being taken to foil attempts by terrorists to disturb the peace. However, Rajnath Singh also directed the officials that action must be taken to check infiltration attempts from across the border.

Earlier, on Sunday, Jammu and Kashmir Governor N N Vohra called on Home Minister Rajnath Singh in New Delhi and briefed him about the current situation in the valley. During the half-an-hour meeting, Governor Vohra apprised Rajnath Singh of the security situation in Jammu and Kashmir, particularly in border areas which have been witnessing massive ceasefire violation by Pakistan and infiltration from across the border.
