Olympics of diplomacy: Kim Jong-un thanks Seoul for “impressive” effort

Pyongyang, February 13: If there was a gold medal for diplomacy in Olympics, North Korea would definitely get it. After sending a high-level delegation to South Korea, Kim Jong-un has now praised the latter, host of Winter Olympics 2018, after the delegation returned to the native. He has praised the “warm climate of reconciliation and dialogue”.

The first major breakthrough was to send his influential sister Kim-yo-Jong, the ceremonial head of North Korean state as part of the delegation in Seoul. After he welcomed the delegation back in the country, he expressed satisfaction over the report of the visit.

"It is important to continue making good results by further livening up the warm climate of reconciliation and dialogue created by the strong desire and common will of the North and the South with the Winter Olympics as a momentum," Kim was quoted in English by the Korean Central News Agency (KCNA).

But however, international allies of South Korea, especially the US is not so much satisfied or optimistic about the recent development. The US clearly showed skeptic attitude telling it is not enough to say that North Korea will walk down the road of peace. It is also being feared that Kim’s sister travel to Seoul let win the propaganda of North Korea.
