AIADMK leader M Thambidurai slams BJP for skipping Jaya portrait event

Chennai, February 13: Questioning the absence of Tamil Nadu BJP leaders at J Jayalalithaa's portrait unveiling ceremony, senior AIADMK leader M Thambidurai said that BJP leaders have forgotten Jayalalithaa's contribution. He maintained that BJP leaders could have attended Jaya portrait event with gratitude.

On Monday, J Jayalalithaa's portrait was unveiled in Tamil Nadu state assembly where Chief Minister E Palaniswami, Deputy Chief Minister O Panneerselvam, Tamil Nadu Assembly Speaker P. Dhanapal and other top leaders along with AIADMK lawmakers were present.

When asked about the protest of opposition party DMK against the installation of J Jayalalithaa's portrait, the Lok Sabha Deputy Speaker termed it as male chauvinism nurtured by DMK leadership. Meanwhile, DMK party boycotted the entire event and even took legal action against the Jayalalithaa's portrait at the state Assembly.
