Srinagar, February 14: Enemy is frustrated and is trying softer targets, when they fail at borders they attack on camps. This was said by Lt Gen Devraj Anbu who is a General Officer Commander-in-Chief of Northern Command in Srinagar on Wednesday.

During a press conference, Lt Gen Devraj Anbu while referring to Karan Nagar encounter and Sunjuwan military camp attack said, “Enemy is frustrated and is trying softer targets, when they fail at borders they attack on camps.”

Expressing concern over the youth of Jammu and Kashmir joining terrorism said, “Yes youth joining terror is a concern, we need to address this trend. In 2017 we focused on leadership and eliminated it.” “Social media is also responsible for an increase in terror, it’s engaging the youth at a large scale, and I think we need to focus on this issue,” he added.

He also slammed Asaduddin Owaisi and said, “we don't communalize, those making statements don't know the Army well." Lt Gen. Anbu further said Hizbul Mujahideen (HM), Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) or Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) are hands in glove.

"All three groups like HM, JeM or LeT are hands in glove whether it's in valley or here. There is no differentiation; they keep jumping from one Tanzim to other. Anyone who picks up an arm and is against the state is a terrorist and we'll deal with him," Lt Gen. Anbu noted.

The press conference from Army’s top official comes few days after Indian Army eliminated four terrorists belonged to Pakistan-based Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) terror outfit after a fierce encounter that took place in Jammu’s Sunjuwan military camp. On February 13, security forces killed two terrorists after a fierce encounter that took place in Jammu and Kashmir's Karan Nagar area of Srinagar city after they led an ambush at CRPF headquarters.
