Martyr Rakesh Ratudi’s body vanished but not his legacy; son says “my father made the country proud same is my wish”

Dehradun, February 14: The Indian Army eliminated four terrorists belonged to Pakistan-based Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) terror outfit after a fierce encounter that took place in Jammu’s Sunjuwan military camp on Sunday but two army soldiers were martyred. One of them was Rakesh Ratudi who was cremated at Haridwar.

The 17-year-old son of the martyr Rakesh Ratudi did the last rituals of his father but with courage without any tear in his eyes, the whole environment became sore. Everybody had water on his eyes.

He son said that “15 people of our family of three generations have been admitted to the army. Some of these have retired after serving the country and some of the second and third generations are now working in the army. I also want to be a soldier.”

 

CM of Uttarakhand Truvendra Rawat expressed his condolences and was present to pay the tribute. He also tweeted “Sincere Rakesh Ratuudi, who was martyred in a terror attack on Sunjavan army camp, paid tribute to him. I respiration to the kin of the martyrs. The government will always be standing with the family of martyrs.”

Earlier, the body of Shaheed Rakesh Rathudi was brought with the entire military honours on the Khammari Shamshan Ghat. The Army paid tribute to the martyred traditionally on this occasion.
