GIFT city to boost new business opportunities: CM Vijay Rupani

Gandhinagar, February 15: Appreciating the business-friendly eco-systems developed under GIFT city, Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani said that state government would take all possible steps to boost the new trade opportunities at the state-backed financial city. He was addressing the inaugural function of new IFSC headquarters of YES Bank.

Rupani expressed that city-based financial institute will transform the sector like commodity exchange, share transactions. He maintained that GIFT city is shaping well and would emerge as an international hub for the stock market. Recalling the tenure of then Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi, Rupani Modi for crafting Gujarat International Finance Tec-City to promote international financial services.

On this occasion, the Chief Minister congratulated YES bank officials for achieving business of worth $2 billion. Rupani mentioned that central government is keen on developing to GIFT city where special provisions have been made in the recent union budget for the business expansion plans of GIFT city.

A brainchild of Narendra Modi, GIFT City is a business platform promoted by the Government of Gujarat through a joint venture company. The Gandhinagar based institution is India's first operational smart city and international financial services center.
