Florida, February 15: Unfortunate! At least 17 people were killed after a 19-year-old teen named Nikolas Cruz opened fire at a high school campus in Parkland, Florida on Wednesday. Fourteen others were injured of which five are in critical condition.

Notably, Nikolas Cruz who was a former student of Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School opened fire at a high school campus in Parkland and killed at least 17 people while 14 others were injured. Nikolas Cruz was expelled from Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School for disciplinary reasons and was enrolled elsewhere in the district.

After shooting, Nikolas Cruz was arrested from nearby Coral Springs. He will be presented in the Court today. Sheriff Scott Israel said that police are investigating Cruz's digital footprint. “So far, what they've found is "very, very disturbing," he said. Meanwhile, Law enforcement sources said the suspect used a .223 caliber, AR-15 style firearm in the shooting.

Florida Governor Rick Scott ordered government flags flown at half-staff through Monday in honor of victims of the shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School. However, the school is closed for the rest of the week.

US President Donald Trump on a twitter said, "My prayers and condolences to the families of the victims of the terrible Florida shooting. No child, teacher or anyone else should ever feel unsafe in an American school."

Importantly, it is the deadliest school shooting since 26 people were killed at Connecticut school Sandy Hook in 2012. It is the sixth school shooting incident this year so far that has either wounded or killed students.
