Panaji, February 15: Goa Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar, who is being roasted on social media for his recent comments on girls consuming liquor, finally broke the silence and clarified that he was referring to the habits of school and college students.
 
Speaking to the media, the former Defence minister stated that media has twisted his statement and presented it out of context. The Chief Minister maintained that he had no issues with anybody's personal choices.In his recent media interaction, Parrikar expressed concern about liquor consumption by youngster which triggered controversy where various feminist groups targeted and reacted heavily against Parrikar. The Chief Minister reiterated that he had never asked anyone not to drink.

Commenting on Minister Vijai Sardesai’s jibe on tourists Parrikar maintained that responsible lawmakers should think twice before making any statements in public domain. He also urged tourist to follow simple civic rules while touring the state. Earlier, irked with some alleged activities of domestic tourists, Sardesai referred a section of domestic visitors as "scum of the earth".
