Moscow, February 15: While Russia has been alleged by United Kingdom(UK) for a massive cyber attack in Ukraine which spread to Europe, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov has clearly denied such allegation. The NotPetya atta is estimated to have cost companies more than $1.2b.

"We categorically reject such accusations, we consider them unsubstantiated and groundless. This is nothing more than the continuation of the Russophobic campaign lacking any evidence," Peskov commented on when he was asked a question about the NotPetya attack.

"The UK government judges that the Russian government, specifically the Russian military, was responsible for the destructive NotPetya cyber attack.," UK’s Foreign Office minister Lord Ahmad of Wimbledon said.

Ukraine has already been in a conflict with Russia since 2014 Crimea annexation. The NotPetya ransomware attack primarily targeted Ukraine which later spread in rest of Europe. Denying the responsibility, Russia claimed Russian businesses were among those with systems affected.

UK government accused the Russian government of “undermining democracy”. US has also claimed blamed Russia for interfering in US Presidential election and UK earlier blamed for influencing Brexit. Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov called all the allegations absolutely groundless and emphasized that Moscow didn't meddle in any foreign state's affairs.
