Russian machinery museum inaugurated in Suratgarh on the eve of India-Russia 70 years relation

Jaipur, February 15: As a part of the country-wide year-long celebration of India-Russia Diplomatic Relations, the two countries celebrated 70 years of bilateral relations in the field of agriculture at Suratgarh in Rajasthan on Wednesday.

Union minister of state for agriculture Gajender Singh Shekhawat and his Russian counterpart Sergey Beletskiy were present in the celebration. The leaders inaugurated a Russian machinery museum and visited a cattle breeding centre there.

Both the leaders addressed the India-Russia Agriculture Business Summit 2018, held at PUSA, New Delhi. Several business houses and leaders of business associations of both countries, working in agriculture sector attended the event. This will strengthen the exchange of expertise to further business ties between the two countries.

The bilateral relation in the agricultural field has a rich history. Russian scientists also helped in laying the foundation of agriculture in the deserts of Thar, which brought about a change in the agriculture farming in nearby areas including the fringe area of Punjab.
