Review jurisdiction of Water Boards: Andhra Pradesh to center

New Delhi, February 16: In order to fine-tune the functioning of Water Management Boards, Andhra Pradesh government has urged center to review the existing jurisdiction of the Water Management Board. Speaking to the media, Irrigation Minister Devineni Umamaheswara Rao stated that center should change the jurisdiction of the Water Management Board with reference to the state bifurcation Act.

The senior TDP leader who was in the national capital for the Pradhan Mantri Krishi Sanchay Yojana meeting mentioned that center should take the final on Krishna and Godavari Water Management Boards. On this occasion, Devineni requested Water Resources Minister Nitin Gadkari to release the balance funds for Pattiseema and Purushottapatnam irrigation projects.
