Mumbai all decked up for ‘Magnetic Maharashtra’, ‘Navi Mumbai International Airport’, and many more projects

Mumbai, February 18: Mumbai is all decked up today as Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to unveil Magnetic Maharashtra Conclave also he is slated to lay the foundation stone of Navi Mumbai International Airport and inaugurate New Container Terminal at Jawaharlal Nehru port. 

Global Investors Summit titled ‘Magnetic Maharashtra: Convergence 2018’, set to highlight key areas like industries, infrastructure, textile and food processing, defence manufacturing and electronics etc. PM Modi is also scheduled to have a closed-door meeting with CEOs of as many as 50 global companies.

The Magnetic Maharashtra summit officially called ‘Magnetic Maharashtra: Convergence 2018’ is expected to see the attendance of over 150 global CEOs as well as business tycoons from India. The event will also be attended by Ambassadors and Consul Generals of different countries.

Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis expects to sign a record 4,500 Memorandum of Understandings (MoUs) and investment intentions worth Rs 10 lakh crore.

 
 

Besides the Prime Minister will also lay the foundation stone of Navi Mumbai International Airport, the first phase of which is expected to be completed by December 2019. This is the deadline set by the Maharashtra government.

PM Modi will also inaugurate the Wadhwani Institute for Artificial Intelligence at the University of Mumbai. The Prime Minister will later leave for Mysuru in Karnataka.

On February 19, he will address via video conferencing the World Conference on Information Technology, being held in Hyderabad. He will also visit Shravanabelagola for the Bahubali Mahamasthakabhisheka Mahotsava.

At a function at the Mysuru Railway Station, he will dedicate to the nation, the electrified Mysuru-Bengaluru railway line. He will flag off the Palace Queen Humsafar Express between Mysuru and Udaipur, besides addressing a public meeting in Mysuru later in the day.

With this mega-summit, Maharashtra set to enter into agreements entailing investments of over $160 billion.

The Magnetic Maharashtra policy- Fintech Policy was unveiled recently to attract investments of $2 billion with a unique model to create five defence manufacturing hubs near military bases in the state.
