Sana’a, February 18: Amidst severe outbreak cholera in Yemen, the United States drone has killed two suspected Al-Qaeda members on a motorbike including a local commander Abu Hussein al-Theriya. Notably, the situation in Yemen has gone to worst as it is suffering from civil war, an outbreak of cholera and terrorism.

A security official on Saturday said that the United States drone in central Yemen killed two suspected Al-Qaeda members on a motorbike including a local commander. The unmanned aircraft struck the motorcycle carrying the men in Bayda province at around midnight Friday.

The official further said, "The strike targeted two Al-Qaeda terrorists, local commander Abu Hussein al-Theriya and another, Dawoud al-Sanaani, as they rode through the province." However, the strike came after UAE-backed Yemeni special forces launched an intensified offensive against Al-Qaeda in southeast Yemen.

Interestingly, the drone war has intensified since President Donald Trump held the Presidency. The United States also backs a Saudi-led coalition in its military intervention in Yemen, launched in 2015 with the aim of forcing Iran-backed Shiite rebels from the capital and restoring the government to power again.

On the other side, the United Nation has labelled Yemen the world's worst humanitarian diaster, tallying more than 9,200 fatalities since the Saudi-led coalition intervened in 2015. There is an effective increase in violence across Yemen has resulted in the displacement of more than 85,000 people in just the last 10 weeks.

Importantly, the civil war in Yemen has led to the massive outbreak of cholera and this both factors have killed or injured more than 5,000 children and left another 400,000 severely malnourished and fighting for their lives. Due to an outbreak of cholera in April last year, 96% parts of Yemen is severely hampered and affected.
