Bihar Education Minister welcomes the move to ban socks, shoes inside Class X board exam centres

Patna, January 19: Bihar board examinations have often been tattered with various scandals. To keep eye on students properly, the Bihar School Examination Board (BSEB) has asked students appearing for the upcoming Class X board examinations not to wear shoes and socks and instead wear slippers.

The examination is starting from 21st February. 17.70 lakh students will be appearing for the Class X board examinations at 1,426 centers in the State this year. On Monday, the circulation has been distributed in the state.

Bihar Education Minister Krishna Nandan Prasad Verma on appreciated the move by BSEB. He said that the decision has been taken to save time spent on checking to prevent cheating.

“The board has decided that candidates wearing only slippers will be allowed to enter the examination halls…those coming to the centers wearing shoes and socks will have to remove them outside the hall”, said BSEB chairman Anand Kishor.

985 students were expelled on Saturday for cheating during the intermediate examination conducted by BSEB. Every year news of mass cheating catches headline after Bihar board exams. This year even the examination will be recorded. Section 144 to will be posed on a radius of 200 meters from the examination center.
