Shyopur (MP), Feb 19: Addressing a mammoth Hindu Sammelan where people converged from nook and corner of the district in Madhya Pradesh on Sunday, Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) Sah-Sarkaryawah Suresh Soni appealed to social organisations to come forward to ameliorate the condition of poor sections of the society and bring them at par with the other developed sections.

Olympic hockey player Vijendra Kumar, Uttam Swamiji Maharaj, Babulal Jatav, President of Hindu Sammelan committee, Dr Anurag Trivedi and Secretary Narendra Meena were prominently present.

In his address Suresh Soni impressed upon the audience how Hindu Dharma and Culture treated all with equality and saw presence of the One Reality in all the animate and inanimate creation. Recalling how Swami Vivekananda presented Hindu Dharma at the World Conference of Religions in 1893 held at Chicago in the USA, he gave examples of how the Hindus gave shelter to persecuted communities like the Parasis and Jews in the past.

He said that the Hindu philosophy is not only for the welfare and betterment of Hindus alone, but it is for the welfare and good of the entire universe. It has spread the message of love and brotherhood all over the world. In our houses, the mothers used to keep away certain portion of eatables and water for the birds and domestic animals like cows etc., thus inculcating the value of feeding and caring for the members of human environment. This is the Hindu tradition; Soni said and warned that we are forgetting this benevolent tradition in the present times.

This feeling and value of caring for others developed into the larger concept of ‘world as one family’ or “Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam”, he said adding that this was not just a verbal expression. We Hindus have lived this in the past and even now our daily routine bears testimony to its validity today.

This Hindu Sammelan is specially convened to re-establish such Hindu life values and ethos in our life, the RSS leader said. Soni further appealed to the people to rise about the petty differences of caste, language and province and stand united as one homogenous Hindu society for the better future of the country and humanity also.

We should care for the uplift of those illiterate, poor, hungry, and prove ourselves as good Hindus, he said, appealing the gathering to think deeply in their hearts as to what they can do for the poor, neglected and exploited sections of the society.

Giving historical evidence, he said that it has been proved time and again that whenever this Hindu feeling was reduced in the society and the caste, language or provincial feelings took over the Hindu society faced great dangers. We had to lose our land, people and culture and even Dharma. Citing examples of Afghanistan, Pakistan etc. he said that those were the Hindu provinces once upon a time but now completely changed to alien religion and culture.

Even within India, religious and revered places like Ayodhya, Mathura and Kashi have been demolished and destroyed because of the ignorance of ‘Hindu Bhav’, Soni said. Now we need to unite and stand as a strong and vibrant Hindu society if we were to save our dharma, culture and motherland, he added.

The RSS leader referred to various elements and thought-currents active in India to break up the Hindu society. They go to the tribals and tell them that they are not Hindus, they are Bheels, Sahraiyas and Gonds which is far from the truth. All of them were inseparable part of Hindu society, culture and dharma.

Giving examples of tribal societies in Arunachal Pradesh, Meghalaya, Odisha, Jharkhand, MP, Soni said that they related them with Rama, Krishna and Mahabharata; fought with the British to free the motherland and devoted them to free their society from addiction. He said that the entire Hindu society including the tribals is nature worshipper. We worship Sun, Moon, Water, Air, Fire, animals, birds, trees etc. And these all are present in our tribal societies. But consistent efforts were made to impress upon them that they were not Hindus and have a different culture and dharma from those of the Hindus. There is a need to effectively counter this propaganda, he said.

Soni also appealed to the gathering to give up inhuman practices like untouchability to make Hindu society strong, vibrant and prosperous.

The gathering was addressed by Sri Uttam Swamiji Maharaj and chief guest Vijendra Kumar.

People from the district thronged at the Sammelan venue in thousands spreading the message of Hindu unity and integrity. An impressive ‘Kalash Yatra’ was organised in the city which was participated by thousands of women from the district. The tribal troupes presented attractive folk dances.

The dignitaries offered floral tributes at the portrait of Bharat Mata and lit the traditional lamp to herald the inauguration of the Sammelan. Babulal Jatav made introductory remarks and welcomed the dignitaries.

In his address Shri Uttam Swamiji Maharaj said that Hindu alone honours all that is good. He said that Lord Rama presented the best example of respecting women by accepting the berries from Sabari. Olympic hockey player Vijendra Kumar in his address said that Hindu is a life style and not a religion. He said India is a country of youth and 60 percent citizens are young. If we have to make our country a global power then we must think about our country and family.
