Inaugurating ‘Magnetic Maharashtra: Convergence 2018’, PM Modi says “We believe, Potential + Policy + Performance = Progress”

Mumbai, February 19: “We believe, Potential + Policy + Performance equals Progress.” This was said by Prime Minister Narendra Modi after inaugurating Magnetic Maharashtra: Convergence 2018 on Sunday and also pitched strongly for investing in the country.

 

On this occasion, PM Modi also highlighted how Government was committed to creating transparent and simplified business eco-system. PM Modi also reiterated that India aspires to, and is moving towards, a $5 trillion economy over the next few years with sustained, comprehensive and holistic development.


While addressing a gathering of over 200 captains of Indian and global companies at Bandra Kurla Complex, PM Modi said that Maharashtra would become the first state in India to become a Trillion Dollar economy in the next few years.


The Prime Minister also noted that his government has taken a slew of steps to ensure all-round development of India with an ecosystem comprising a development-friendly, investor-friendly governance with minimal governmental interference.


Lauding the efforts and hard work of Maharashtra government, PM Modi also said, “This state has initiated unprecedented measures to lure foreign investors on all fronts, led by Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis.” "The state's reforms have transformed business, huge improvements in its rating in Ease of Doing Business, changed the work culture, problems are being resolved in a timebound manner, debottle-necking has been achieved with inter-departmental cooperation, all of which have reflected on its development," he added.


PM Modi also inaugurated the Wadhwani Institute for Artificial Intelligence and said that Government has firm belief that it can use Artificial Intelligence as the power of twenty-first-century technology to eradicate poverty and diseases.


PM Modi said by doing so the government can bring prosperity to poor and under-privileged sections. The Prime Minister also said that there is no doubt that productivity will increase by using Artificial Intelligence, Bots and Robots, however, there are also rising fears of human redundancy because there is a competition between the mind and the machine. PM Modi said that the progress of Artificial Intelligence depends on and will be driven by human intentions.



He, in the end, emphasised that the march of technology cannot be at the expense of further increasing the difference between societies. PM Modi also added that evolution of technology has to be rooted in the ethics of Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas. Prime Minister Narendra Modi dedicated Navi Mumbai Airport and JNPT terminal to the nation.
