PM Modi dedicates Mysuru-KSR Bengaluru electric railway line; flags off Mysuru-Udaipur Humsafar Express train

Bengaluru, February 19: After addressing World Congress on Information Technology Conclave in Hyderabad, Prime Minister started his Karnataka tour where he attended Shravanbalegola, Bahubali Mahamastakabhisheka Festival. PM Modi flagged off Mysuru-Udaipur Palace Queen Humsafar Express. 

Reaching Mysuru railway station, PM Modi also commissioned 140-km fully-electrified Bengaluru-Mysuru rail track and flagged off the Humsafar Express train from Mysuru to Udaipur in Rajasthan. Inaugurating newly constructed Electric Railway line between Mysuru and KSR Bengaluru will greatly benefit the people of Bengaluru, Ramanagara, Mandya and Mysuru.



Chief Minister Siddaramaiah said that “Palace city Mysuru has seen astonishing development like never before in the last 5 years and has been a hub of commercial & tourism activities. This can be attributed to the successful implementation of various schemes of our government.”


Prior to this, PM Modi addressed the Bahubali Mahamastakabhisheka Mahotsav, said that saints and seers from our land have always served society and made a positive difference. The strength of our society is that we have always changed with the times and adapted well to new situations.

This is the 1st visit of a Prime Minister to such holy site since last 25 years. Stressing the importance of healthcare, PM Modi said, "It is our duty to provide good quality and affordable healthcare to the poor."

PM Narendra Modi will also address a rally and participate in various public functions in Karnataka on Monday. PM Modi was warmly received by Chief Minister. PM Modi is also set to inaugurate Bahubali General Hospital built by the Jain Mutt. Later, the Prime Minister will commission the electrified Mysuru-Bengaluru railway line and flag off the Humsafar Express train from Mysuru to Udaipur in Rajasthan.
