Two members of Bangladeshi terror outfit arrested for alleged involvement in Bodh Gaya blast

Mushirdabad, February 2: Two active members of Jamatul Mujahidin Bangladesh, a banned terror outfit, have been arrested by Kolkata police for the duo’s alleged involvement in Bodh Gaya. Though the blast was a low-intensity one but the Spiritual Leader Dalai Lama was holding a workshop then in the temple town.

Police had recovered explosives from them including Ammonium Nitrate. With the help of Murshidabad, Siliguri and Darjeeling Police, the Special Task Force unit of Kolkata Police arrested the duo. One of them is a resident of Murshidabad(a district in Bengal) and he was arrested from Kankuria Gram in Murshidabad.STF has already informed National Investigating Agency which is investing the blast.

“We arrested Paigamber Sheikh (24) and Jamirul Sheikh (31). Apart from 50 kilograms of explosive Ammonium Nitrate, one laptop and other materials used to make explosives have been recovered. In primary interrogation, the two accused revealed their links with the group that had planted IED at Bodh Gaya during Dalai Lama’s visit”, said Murlidhar Sharma, Deputy Commissioner of Police (STF).

Paigamber Seikh has revealed JMB’s active presence in Mushirdabad and how he has lead to make 10 units in the district. Each unit has 15 members. Even the outfit has active presence in Assam. The network of JMB in Bengal is a definite concern for internal security.
