Kamal Haasan to address Harvard’s prestigious India Conference

Chennai, February 2: The state is set for the first overseas address of Veteran actor Kamal Haasan after his thundering political foray. On February 10, the Ulaganayagan will deliver the keynote at prestigious at Harvard University.

The ace actor will shed light on the current socio-political scenario of Tamil Nadu, which is under the milieu of political uncertainty after the death of Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa. This will be the second engagement of ace actor at Harvard. In 2016 he was invited to speak on the subject of Freedom of Expression. 

The national award-winning actor will embark on his first political state-wide mass outreach programme from 21 February. Under the theme of 'Naalai Namadhe' (Tomorrow is ours), the 63-years old maverick actor would criss-cross the entire state to mobilizes support for his much anticipated political outfit.

Informing about the mega event, Haasan took to Twitter and shared the information about the same. Renowned TV personality Barkha Dutt will moderate the session with Kamal Haasan.

The India Conference is a global platform which focuses mainly on Indian diaspora based in the USA. The event is being hosted by Harvard Business School. The two-day convention will engage discussions and deliberations involving business leaders, entertainment professionals, government officials, philanthropists about India’s path to global leadership.

Meanwhile, the multi-talented actor in his recent weekly column in Tamil magazine reiterated that he is not against Hindus. Commenting on the political plunge, Haasan mentioned that by engaging interactive sessions with the people during his maiden political tour he wanted to change the established stereotypical notions of politics.

He further clarified that his outfit would not indulge in any petty practice of vote bank politics. The aspiring politician expressed concern over the serious issues like farmer suicides and the culture of freebies. He slammed political leaders for diverting key issues for settling the political scores.
