PyeongChang, February 2: The much-awaited Winter Olympics will start soon and ahead of that, the two Olympic villages opened their doors to winter athletes from across the world on Thursday. The villages are extraordinary cultural confluence which athletes enjoy along with the competition.
The athletes will not only to prepare for competition, but will also enjoy the spirit of the Olympic Games. This is very strangely beautiful that the athletes, who will compete with each other, will share meals together. They will get to know friends from various countries and will make a lifetime experience.
Speaking at the opening of the PyeongChang Olympic Village, International Olympic Committee (IOC) President Thomas Bach said: “We can already say that this is one of the best, if not the best, Olympic Village we have ever seen for the Olympic Winter Games.” IOC President who is staying in PyeongChang Olympic Village visited the Gangneung Olympic Village.
The athletes will be able to take advantage of a number of activities and services in both Villages. These will include a fitness centre, a 24/7 dining area serving a wide selection of local and international cuisine, a recreation centre, a state-of-the-art medical centre, and a multi-faith centre. There will also be a selection of “high street” services for them making it a home far away.
