Hyderabad, February 2: Expressing concern over the rampant corruption in real estate and construction industry, Telangana Urban Development Minister KT Rama Rao said that people are facing serious issues due to Red tapism and other malpractices in this sector He was speaking at the 66th National Town and Country Planners Congress organized by Institute of Town Planners. The Minister further went on saying that should ecosystem need to be developed in order to curb the ill practices.

Briefing about the policy decisions introduced by TRS government under K Chandrasekhar Rao, the minister asserted that Telangana is the only state in the country which provides approvals within 21 days. He further pointed that if not delivered, on the 22nd day it's considered as a deemed approval.

In 2016, Telangana government had launched a digital interactive single window clearance platform, known as Development Permission Management System in a bid to maintain the transparency in approvals of plans and other permission.
