IT to boost Telangana’s economy: KT Rama Rao

Hyderabad, February 20: Telangana IT Minister KT Rama Rao has announced that state government is working on the comprehensive plans to expand emerging IT sector across the state. He mentioned that new establishment will boost the employment opportunities in tier-2 cities like Karimnagar and Warangal.

Speaking at the inaugural function of World Congress IT, Rao stated that with five lakh IT professionals, Hyderabad has emerged as the country’s second-largest IT exporter. Briefing about the T-hub platform, the minister said that near about 200 start-ups are working in the Country’s largest incubator helmed by Telangana government. Rao also underlined the policy decisions that paved the way for Telangana to elevate its position in in Ease of Doing Business ratings.

KTR informed that state government is gearing up for the efficient connectivity with Fibre optics technology covering nearly 10million houses in Telangana. Later, speaking at the Ministers' Round Table Rao said that Telangana is focusing on sectors like connectivity, digital literacy, skilling, innovation and intellectual property.
