Uttarakhand to have six Post Office Passport Seva Kendras soon

Dehradun, February 20: In order to reduce the burden on the only Passport Seva Kendra in the state it has been decided to set up six passport centers in the main post offices located in Almora, Rudrapur, Nainital, Roorkee, Kathgodam, and Pauri.

Work is going on to open the centers first in Almora and Nainital Post offices next month and then the rest offices will be open. According to the sources official formalities are in progress to set up these centers. And the post offices will be examined and then the path for this will be clear.

The Ministry of External Affairs has set a goal to set up a passport service center every 50 kilometers radius in every state of the country. Under this, six passport service centers are to be opened in Uttarakhand. From where people can easily get a passport and get it on time. Initially the passport office in the Post Office Passport Seva Kendra will teach all the work related to passport to the postal workers.

Regional passport officer Rishi Angra said that the Post Office Passport Seva Kendra, which will open in Uttarakhand, will be first inspected. The existing facilities will be examined. Passport related work will be started in post offices only after receiving the order from the Ministry of External Affairs.
