New Delhi, February 21: A day after the unfortunate incident of Delhi Chief Secretary Anshu Prakash was manhandled by two Aam Aadmi Party lawmakers at Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal's home, the Delhi police have detained Kejriwal’s advisor V K Jain and AAP legislator Prakash Jarwal. While another accused AAP MLA Amanatullah Khan was also arrested.

The Delhi police immediately filed an FIR against both AAP MLAs Amantullah Khan and Prakash Jarwal. Intensifying its probe, Delhi police arrested AAP legislator Prakash Jarwal on Tuesday and will be produced in the Court later today. Delhi police on Wednesday morning arrested CM Kejriwal’s advisor V K Jain for questioning and released him three hours later. Later, Police also arrested Amantullah Khan from Jamiya Nagar around 11.33 am.

Notably, the Chief Secretary of Delhi, Anshu Prakash was roughed up by Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MLAs including Prakash Jarwal and Amanatullah Khan in the presence of CM Arvind Kejriwal at his home during a meeting on Monday night. Delhi Chief Secretary Anshu Prakash wrote a letter to DCP North over the criminal attack on him by the AAP MLAs in presence and approval of Kejriwal.

In the letter, Prakash alleged that he was abused by MLA at Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal's residence on Tuesday night. "My spectacles fell on the ground. I was in a state of shock. With difficulty I was able to leave the room and get into my official car and leave chief minister's residence," he said.

The incident triggered protests by employees of Delhi Secretariat. The IAS officers Association said, “Strongly condemn the assault on Chief Secretary, Delhi. It's a criminal, cowardly & deplorable act and an assault on the Constitution. We stand by our colleagues in Delhi and demand immediate arrest of the perpetrators of such shameful act.”

Home Minister Rajnath Singh tweeted about the issue saying, "I am deeply pained by the happenings involving the Chief Secretary of the Delhi Government. The civil servants should be allowed to work with dignity and without fear".

Meanwhile, the Union Home Ministry has sought a report over the ongoing crisis between the AAP government and the IAS officers in the Union Territory of Delhi. On the other side, Kejriwal's office has dismissed Prakash's accusation as "bizarre and baseless".

Importantly, the attack on the senior IAS officer has triggered the sentiments of a strong opposition to Aam Adami Party’s Maoist style of functioning and abusive and negative politics. It is better for Kejriwal that he should resign now with honor, if not the people are determined to kick urban Maoist from the political arena.
