Varanasi, Feb 21: Certain elements and forces that are inimical to India’s rise in the comity of nations are trying to distort history and spread false narrative to disturb communal harmony in the country, observed RSS Sarsanghchalak Dr Mohan Bhagwat here on Tuesday.

Bhagwat was addressing a massive gathering of swayamsevaks in uniform at Deendayal Hastakala Sankul in Bada Lalpur area of Varanasi, the parliamentary constituency of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

The RSS head said that there was communal harmony and unity before 1857. But the British in 1905 formed the Muslim League and spread radicalism in the society leading to communal tensions and strife. There are still some people who are following their footsteps to vitiate the harmony and unity, the RSS Sarsanghchalak said.

He said that the society must be made aware of these anti-India designs of these elements. He further said that we need to remember that we were one since ages and are even today. We have to be cautious about the nefarious designs of those who wanted to spread disturb harmony by spreading hatred in the society and counter their efforts by strengthening social harmony and unity, he added.

He underlined that good works are being done in large numbers but they lack in publicity. Those social workers carry on their activities with devotion without caring for publicity and they do not encash their service to the society neither do have any political ambition. Therefore, their service activities do not get the publicity. But he emphasized that the number of such social workers must increase. Such activities are accomplished due to sensitivity and self-inspiration.

He appealed to the people to visualize God in the form of society and serve it.

Earlier, the RSS chief addressed the meeting of prominent workers associated with various organisations affiliated to RSS and urged them to follow discipline. He said that there is no place for the self in organisation, there is only dedication.

Addressing a gathering of regional and provincial level activists of RSS-affiliate organisations Bhagwat impressed upon them the need to imbibe Sangh values in their life and personality. He said that these values and samskars should be visible in our behaviour with the family, friends and society.
