Security forces bust terrorist hideout in Kupwara district of JK; recovers huge cache of arms, ammunition

Srinagar, February 21: Intensified efforts from security forces to eradicate terrorists and terrorism from Jammu and Kashmir continues in full swing. Notably, security forces on Monday late night busted a terrorist hideout and recovered a huge quantity of arms and ammunition from Kupwara district of Jammu and Kashmir.

 

In a joint operation led by Jammu and Kashmir’s police Special Operation Group, Army’s Rashtriya Rifle and CRPF’s 98 Battalion busted a terrorist hideout and recovered a huge quantity of arms and ammunition from Lashtiyal village of Kupwara district of Jammu and Kashmir.

The recovered arms and ammunition includes 2 kgs of the Improvised explosive device (IED), three UBGL shells, 15 rounds of pistol, 335 rounds of AK and seven detonators. However, a case has been registered under the Indian Arms Act at PS Kupwara and the investigation is in progress.

This comes few days after Indian security forces eliminated one terrorist and foiled a major infiltration attempt along the Line of Control in Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir. Earlier, in December last year, Jammu and Kashmir police two hideouts and arrested a hardcore associate of the terrorists belonged to Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT) in Kupwara district of Jammu and Kashmir.

Anti-Terrorism operation is continued with such a speed that at least 206 terrorists were eliminated by Indian troops last year in Jammu and Kashmir.
