Defense corridors, new airports will boost employment in the new Uttar Pradesh: PM Modi at UP Investors Summit

Lucknow, February 21: Uttar Pradesh Investors Summit was inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi amidst top investors and delegates. Considering every particular factor that excels UP in every form, PM Modi said hosting such a mega-investor summit at such a wide level in Uttar Pradesh, so many investors and entrepreneurs are united in the investor summit, there is a big change in itself. 

UP Investors Summit aims to showcase investment opportunities across different sectors of the state. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath welcomed everyone with warm greetings saying UP Investors warmly welcomes on the behalf of 22 crore people of Uttar Pradesh. I have full faith that you will be moving forward on the path of Uttar Pradesh development with the cooperation, faith and blessings of everyone.

 

Industrial Development Minister Satish Mahana said the focus is on UP, as the concept of ‘New India’ will be complete only by taking UP along," at the opening of UP Investors Summit.

 

UP Investors Summit has its own robot to welcome the guests. A robot created by a group of students will welcome PM Modi and other dignitaries at the summit. The robot will greet the guests by saying "Athithi Devo Bhava" and will also gift them a rosebud. Business leaders including Gautam Adani, Mukesh Ambani, Anand Mahendra and Naresh Trehan have graced the Summit.

After opening up Investors Summit, PM Modi took a glance over the outlay of Summit. Also, Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh is present at the Summit.

Reliance Industries Chairman Mukesh Ambani addressed the delegates saying "PM Modi wants to make Uttar Pradesh Uttam Pradesh." 

CM Yogi took the stage to address the delegates present saying that “due to the leadership of PM Modi, the UP is reaching new heights of development. PM always says that there can be no alternative to development. The growth of the country can happen only when coupled with that of UP. The focus sector of the summit includes handloom, dairy, MSE, IT, start-ups, electronics, tourism and films.”

 

In the last 11 months, the state government has strived to ensure law and order development in UP. In the smart city mission, 10 cities are from UP. Varanasi, Allahabad will soon see a metro. Lucknow has a functional metro. Various policies have been initiated in the state to make it more investment-friendly. 40 lakh jobs will be created in the state in the coming years, CM Yogi informed.

PM Modi launched ‘Nivesh Mitra’ which will act as an online platform to submit, access proposals to the government. Further Prime Minister Modi took the stage to address the Summit. PM Modi lauded the administration of CM Yogi saying that earlier there was an atmosphere of fear in the state. It not only affected the people but also the investors. Yogi Adityanath brought a positive environment in the state. The foundation for new UP has been laid.

Uttar Pradesh ranks number one in the country in the production of foodgrains, wheat, sugarcane, milk, potato production. It is number two in terms of vegetable production and third in terms of fruit production, PM Modi informed.

Expressing confidence, PM Modi said that “Potential coupled with Policy, Planning, Performance can lead to progress. UP will also deliver a super hit performance now.”

The government has also initiated One District-One Product policy. This is a game changer and will result in holistic development. This will be supported by skill India, start-up India and Pradhan Mantri Mudra Yojana, PM Modi added.

Further PM Modi informed that the Prime Ministerial Kisan property scheme has been introduced by the central government to reduce crop-grain-fruits and waste of vegetables. The entire supply chain and infrastructure are being modernized under this scheme. This will help us in doubling the farmers’ income by 2022.Two defence industrial corridors were announced in the Budget. One of them will be constructed in Uttar Pradesh. The corridor will be extended to Agra, Aligarh, Lucknow, Kanpur, Jhansi and Chitrakoot, said PM Modi.

 
Airports will also be initiated in multiple parts of the state. "Hawai chappal pehne wala bhi, hawa mein udna chahiye," PM Modi said. Despite limited airports in the state, the amount of passengers flocking the state is huge. New airports will give it an additional boost. The state is also home to the largest rail network, he added.

Talking about the tourism of UP, PM Modi said that tourism has become a huge industry in itself. The kumbh mela in Prayag will be the largest of its kind and we need to ensure that people from across the globe participate in it.

 

The government both at the centre as well as the state focuses not only on the Job centric growth but also people-centric growth. We will try building such infrastructure in the 21st century that will take the state to new heights. We are giving importance to ease of living as well as ease of business. For the development of new India, new Uttar Pradesh not only do we require new hope but also new investment, stressed PM Modi.
