Chennai, February 22: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is all set to dedicate the ambitious flagship programme of Amma Scooter helmed by AIADMK Government. On February 24, the Prime Minister will fly down to the state capital in order kick-off the Amma Scooter Scheme under which state government will provide 50% financial aid to working women to buy two-wheelers.
A brainchild of late chief minister J Jayalalithaa, the state government has planned the grand event marking the occasion of the 70th birth anniversary of Jayalalithaa on February 24. Looking at the current socio-political environment of Tamil Nadu and PM Modi’s equation AIADMK, the Amma Scooter platform will set the tone for political churning in the coastal state.
Incidentally, actor turned politician Kamal Haasan in his party launching speech took a jibe at the pet project of AIADMK government saying that he would not promise any soups like Scooter. This will be the first state visit of Prime Minister Narendra Modi after the thundering political foray of actor Kamal Haasan.
