Raisen (MP), Feb 22: The Hindus of Raisen district in Madhya Pradesh created a sort of history on Wednesday by putting up a grand show of solidarity at the historic Dashahara Maidan here. Hindus of all sects, castes, men and women, young and old alike from all over the district thronged the Dashahara Maidan to participate in the Samarasata Kumbh on Wednesday.

Addressing this massive gathering of Hindus RSS Sah-Sarkaryawaah Suresh Soni said that the word Kumbh is not new to the Hindus. Kumbh Melas are held in different parts of the country where people from all castes, sects, and languages participate without any discrimination. He urged the Hindus to forget all the differences of castes, sects etc. and stand as a strong, vibrant and solid block of Hindu society to make India a great nation.

Soni said that the family system is our speciality that has kept our society together and we could survive foreign aggressions due to this system in the past. It is the Hindus who expanded the scope of their family to include the entire universe, he said adding that ignorance of this has landed our society in troubles at the present.

To make India strong we need to strengthen this Hindu feeling and spread the message that all those living in this country are the progeny of Hindu ancestors. India is known to outside world as Hindu nation. The Muslims in India also share the same ancestors and culture as that of Hindus, he said giving example of Muslims of Indonesia who still worship Rama and participate in Ramayana. When asked they replied that they had changed their religion not their ancestors and cultures. The same is applicable to the Muslims and Christians in this country as most of them were converted from their original Hindu fold, Soni said.

He pointed to conspiracies to weaken the Hindu society by breaking it into factions. The Janjatis are being told that they are not Hindus, Ligayat and others are also being told in the same language by the forces inimical to India’s growth and rise, he said.

The RSS leader further added that Janjatis of Arunachal Pradesh consider them as progeny of Krishna and Rukmani, Mizo people believe that Rama and Lakshmana taught them how to cultivate paddy and people in Nagaland worship Sun while other janjatis in India worship Lord Shiva and Hanuman. They had sacrificed for the independence of motherland. They are our own people, he added.

He saidtook pride in our great philosophy but never practiced in our life. Let us pledge that there will be one water source, one temple and one cremation ground in our village for all the people. This will end the caste –based discrimination. Let us keep away any kind of addiction lest that break our families and create tensions in the society, he urged the gathering. He also appealed to the ‘matrishakti’ (women folks) to come forward to oppose the outdated customs like dowry, de-addiction etc. and welcome and celebrate the birth of a girl child.

Soni also emphasised on inculcating moral values in children. Education sans values makes the demon out of the man and that is most detrimental for the society, he said underlining the importance of ‘sanskars’ along with ‘shiksha’ i.e. education.

He appealed to them to work unitedly for skill development, to preserve and conserve the water sources and save the environment of their villages. He also urged the rich to come forward to help the needy and weaker sections of the society.

Earlier, sadhus and sants and guests offered floral tributes to the portrait of Bharatmata and lit the traditional lamp to mark the inauguration of the Sammelan. Pujya Shriram maharaj who chaired the event said that he was witnessing a huge sea of Hindus for the first time. He appealed to all to be united and follow the path of truth and dharma.

President of Samarasata Sammelan AYojan samite Bhagchand Uike said that we need to create homogeneity and unity in our society once again to make India a great nation.

Secretary Neelam Chand Sahu said that they approached the society with six dimensions like environment conservation, honouring womanhood, awakening youth power, village self0reliance, and dharma jagarana to create a homogenous society. The entire Raisen district was divided into 154 mandals (blocks) with 10 villages in each mandal. In the next stage 44 units have 50 villages in one unit were formed and 10 tehsil headquarters were made into urban centres. In this way the organisers approached all the 1474 villages in 495 panchayats in the district.

Contact and publicity of the event was made in an organised way. Ramkatha was organised at 21 places in which 35000 plus people participated. Bharat Mata Aarti was held at 400 centres, health camps were organised at 32 centres and ‘Gau-Pujan’ programs were conducted in 400 villages. With all these programs over 92000 people had registered for this Samrasata Sammelan, he said.
