Culture of Nagaland is our pride and will do everything possible to preserve and promote it: PM Modi

Tuensang, February 22: After Tripura, it’s time for Nagaland and Meghalaya! Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed a public rally in Tuensang in Nagaland. “Every resource that is devoted for Nagaland's development has to be spent for the welfare of the people,” said PM Modi while addressing rally. 

Addressing the public, PM Modi said that “guided by 'Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas' we are taking every section of society together and working for the progress of the nation. Be it bureaucracy, music, art, sports, textiles, the people of Nagaland have contributed greatly to our nation. We are all inspired by the bravery of the people of Nagaland.”

 

Nagaland needs a stable government. Over the last few years there have been frequent government changes, which do not augur well for the state's growth. A strong and stable government is in the interest of Nagaland, said PM Modi.

The Constitution of India respects our diversity and it also calls for living in harmony with all sections of society, PM Modi said. Expressing pride he added further that the culture of Nagaland is our pride and we will do everything possible to preserve and further it. The NDA Government is giving special priority to the Northeast. We are making efforts to furthering prosperity in the Northeast.

 

Northeast being one of the important regions PM Modi stressed saying that government is committed to ensure all-round development of North Eastern states.

 

Connectivity in Nagaland is a priority for us. We have ensured development of National Highways in the state and in the coming times we will invest more here to further strengthen it. We are also focusing on enhancing rail and air connectivity, PM Modi said.

 

We want to ensure power for all in Nagaland. We have brought the Saubhagya Yojana which will provide electricity to all homes, he added.

Further PM Modi assured that we are working in mission mode so that every citizen has his or her own home. By 2022, we want to ensure 'Housing for All'. Strengthening health infrastructure in the country is a priority for us. We have announced the Ayushman Bharat Yojana in this year's Budget. This will ensure quality and affordable healthcare for all.

Recalling the focus on Bamboo Mission, PM Modi said that Earlier, bamboo used to categorized as a tree. We changed it to grass. This is immensely benefiting the bamboo growers. The youth of Nagaland are extremely talented. We want them to shine. We are strengthening sports and IT sector here. Through Mudra Yojana, Digital India, Start-ups and Stand-up India, we are giving wings to their aspirations, PM Modi said.
