Centre must keep its promise: Chandrababu Naidu

Anantapur, February 23: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu once again pitched for the Special Category Status to coastal state. Speaking at the framework installation programme of KIA Motors, the TDP national president demanded that BJP led central government must keep their poll promise.

Commenting on the position of multipurpose polavaram irrigation project, Babu accused center of not providing enough financial aid as per the provisions of AP special package. The Chief Minister expressed that state government would clear all the hurdles to hit the deadline of 2019.

Babu maintained that cumulative quantum of 200 tmcft would be drawn from the Godavari this year through lift irrigation projects like Purushottapatnam and Pattiseema.

Recalling the days of tragic bifurcation of the erstwhile Andhra, Chandra Babu blamed Congress for the poor financial health of the state and described bifurcation as an unscientific move.
