100 hours of bliss: Bihar’s Gopalganj gets 11244 toilets within this short period

Gopalganj, February 23: The Clean India drive reaches a new target as Gopalganj district of Bihar has got 10,000 toilets in only 100 hours. Construction of so many toilets within this short period is very rare. Besides district authority has also crossed the target within the decided time frame.

District Magistrate Rahul Kumar said the primary target was to construct 10,000 toilets in 100 hours. But it is a major breakthrough that the district not only achieved the target but also crossed the target by constructing 11244 toilets within the stipulated time frame.

Seeking inspiration from Telengana’s Vijay Gram, where 10,100 toilets were constructed within 100 days, Gopalganj district has started the special campaign. Three thousand masons and over five thousand laborers were engaged in construction work of toilets.

During this 100 hours campaign altogether 66 villages and 256 wards of 12 Panchayats in the district had been declared free of open defecation. In such a short period, it could be implemented because of his effort of labors, officials, employees.
