Gujarat government forms SIT to probe Patan mishap

Gandhinagar/ Patan, February 23: Taking serious note of the unruly accident outside the Patan Collector's office, Gujarat government has constituted a three-member Special Investigation team to investigate the case of activist Bhanubhai Vankar, who allegedly set himself on fire outside the Patan Collector's office on February 15.

Informing about the decision, Minister of State for Home Pradeepsinh Jadeja said that three-member panel under the chairmanship of Inspector General of Police Narsimha Komar will look after the case. Retired additional secretary Kirit Adhvaryu and IPS officer Makrand Chauhan will also be the part of SIT formed by the state government. The SIT will submit its finding by March 31. On February 15, Bhanubhai Vankar members of Rashtriya Dalit Adhikar Manch took extreme step reportedly himself on fire outside the Patan Collector's office.
