Thiruvananthapuram, February 23: God’s own country Kerala has always welcomed tourists with its exotic attractions and over warmly gesture. Tourism is Kerala has always been in news and therefore the state government is aiming to double international tourist pace in the next five years. The Department of tourism in the state is also expecting domestic tourism to increase by 50% during the same time frame

 
Kerala Tourism Deputy Director K Rajkumar said, “To ensure the accomplishment of an ambitious target of a 100 percent increase in arrival of foreign tourists and 50 percent in domestic tourists in five years, tourism regulatory authority has been formed." This will help guarantee better intervention the Tourism Department through scrutiny and licensing system.

Regarding new products, the state has introduced Fort Kochi and a pilgrimage to the Kochi Muziris Biennale, which has changed the landscape of contemporary Indian art today and has helped make Kochi an art hub.

Apart from this the Smart city has brought in quite some new initiatives. This tourist attraction has got scenic beauty and the backwaters what Kerala is famous for is attracting many tourist to visit the State. Along with the scenery the culture and traditions followed by the people here has also garnered a lot of attention. Altogether the State has received a lot of appreciation and this in all has helped the Department of Tourism to create new ideas to boost tourism.
