Abuja, February 24: Again after a suspected Boko Haram attack over 100 girls go missing in north-east Nigeria. Nigerian President Muhammadu Buhari has called the suspected kidnapping of dozens of schoolgirls by Boko Haram militants a "national disaster".

"Our first step was to compile a comprehensive list of all the missing girls. So far, we have compiled the names of 105," said Bashir Manzo, the chairman of a support group set up by Nigeria’s Yobe state said. Heavily armed Jihadists stormed the school in the town of Dapchi in the northeast on Monday.

"We are sorry that this could have happened. We pray that our gallant armed forces will locate and safely return your missing family members," Nigerian president apologized predicting the anger growing among the families of students.

Earlier Nigerian Army said to have rescued approximately 80 school girls after being kidnapped by suspected Boko Haram attackers on Monday. Later, a top official on behalf of the state apologized and said they had been "misled" for publishing inaccurate information.

These Boko Haram terrorists, who staunchly oppose western education, often attack girl students. In 2014, Boko Haram kidnapped nearly 300 schoolgirls. After a deal of prisoner exchange almost 200 girls got released but still, now 100 are missing.
