PM Modi visits Daman; gifts scooters to Divyangs

Daman, February 24: PM Modi inaugurated various developmental projects of 1000 Cr while visiting Union territory of Daman and Diu.

 

PM launched the helicopter service between Daman and Diu. Modi also launched Air Odisha flight service connecting Ahmedabad with Diu under UDAN Scheme. Besides, PM Modi laid the foundation stones for various local developmental projects in Daman and Diu.

Apart from it, the Prime Minister inaugurated anganwadis and schools constructed under Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), launch development projects and hand over certificates to beneficiaries of various official schemes.

 

The PM is also distributed e-rickshaws to women and scooters to differently-abled persons.

While addressing to the public PM Modi said “I appreciate the administration of Daman and Diu for their efforts towards cleanliness, e-rickshaws, and CNG. A clean Daman will draw more tourists, which will create better economic opportunities for people.”

He said, “this public meeting in Daman is historic- not only in terms of the number of people who have joined us but also in terms of the development projects being launched from here.”

 

“I urge the people of Daman to continue giving topmost importance to cleanliness. The opportunities in tourism increase when there is cleanliness” he added.

PM appreciated the initiatives taken to make Daman ODF by saying “I congratulate the people and local administration for making this place ODF. This is a big step”

For our Fishermen, PM Modi said “The Government is taking several steps for the welfare of fishermen. Our entire emphasis on the 'blue revolution' is inspired by the commitment to bring a positive difference in the lives of fishermen.”
