Kuala Lumpur, February 25: Bored of the same old school style of giving attendance to your class teacher? Malaysian University has got an epic way of taking attendance in classes. The attendance taken by this university is through scanning QR code.

In an attempt to stop the gruesome process of signing the attendance, it is seen that the students in this university verified their attendance by using their smartphones to scan a Quick Response (QR) Code given by their Lecturer.

Back in university, whenever we wanted to bunk classes, we would usually ask our friends to ‘cover’ for us or, sign the attendance for us. However, with the emergence of this new technology, it looks like some university students unfortunately cannot do that anymore!

As netizens expressed how amusing and somewhat informative the method was, the idea has gained more popularity and appreciation. Not only that, he also added, the QR code would only be valid for a short period of time thus if the form was to be filled up late, it will not be submitted. This means you have to sign the attendance as soon as the lecturer projects the QR code.

Earlier, the system of taking attendance was through giving thumbprint which has now been replaced by scanning the QR code. This unique method of taking attendance will create a layer of enthusiasm among the students and will encourage them to attend lectures.

Gaining popularity over this exceptional way of taking attendance, this system should be adopted by other countries and new technological ways will eventually grab attention of the students.
