Delhi Chief Secretary assault: Police says Kejriwal’s house CCTV footage tampered

New Delhi, February 26: The Delhi Police who are investigating the Delhi Chief Secretary assault has claimed that the CCTV footages obtained from Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s residence are tampered.

On Friday, the police had searched Kejriwal’s home for the CCTV footage and said that 14 out of the 21 cameras were operational, but running behind time. There were no cameras in the room in which the alleged assault took place, the police said.

Delhi Chief Secretary Anshu Prakash was allegedly manhandled by two AAP MLAs at Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal's residence during a meeting recently. Both the MLAs have been arrested.

The incident reportedly occurred in presence of Kejriwal and deputy chief minister Manish Sisodia. Prakash was called by Kejriwal regarding the issue of advertisements, which were not being released. An investigation is underway by the Delhi Police.

The two legislators, Amanatullah Khan and Prakash Jarwal have been charged under the Indian Penal Code for voluntarily causing hurt to deter public servant from his duty (Section 332), assault or criminal force to deter public servant from discharge of his duty (353) and criminal conspiracy(120B) for the purported attack on Prakash.

Meanwhile, Pooja Joshi, a member of the IAS Joint Forum stated that the assault of Delhi Chief Secretary by AAP MLAs might be an alleged conspiracy. "We want a written apology from the Chief Minister.

Instead of apologizing for the incident the Chief Minister and Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia are in denial. This shows they are part of the conspiracy," Pooja Joshi said.
