New Delhi, February 26: A list comprising of 9,500 Non-Banking Financial Companies deemed as high-risk firms have been issued by the Financial Intelligence Unit (FIU) today.
As per the PMLA, all NBFCs have to appoint a principal officer in the financial institutions and report all suspicious and cash transactions of over ten lakh rupees to the FIU. But, these companies have been found not following these rules as on the 31st of January this year.
Some of the firms named in the list are: Adani Capital Pvt Ltd, Anand Corporate Holdings Pvt Ltd, Arihant Udyog Ltd., Asian Financial Services Ltd, Eros Merchants (P) Ltd and Indigo Fincap Pvt Ltd. The above firms have also been non-compliant under the PMLA.
