Wanted criminal in four states gunned down in Uttar Pradesh

Lucknow, February 26: Uttar Pradesh Police has said that a most wanted criminal in four states was killed in an encounter in Lakhimpur Kheri on Saturday. Police have recovered the motorcycle country made pistol from the spot.

Senior superintendent of police (STF) Abhishek Singh here on Sunday said that acting on tip off STF intercepted two motorbike-borne criminals in Oyal area of Lakhimpur Kheri district late on Saturday night but criminals opened fire on STF team. 

In retaliatory firing one criminal was injured while other managed to flee, Singh said adding that injured criminal was rushed to the hospital where doctors declared him brought dead.

Lilu alias Fauji hailed from Hapur district has received 2 bullet injuries, one in the stomach and another near chest during the gunbattle.

Kheri SHO Deepak Shukla has said that he had bounties of Rs 30,000 and Rs 25,000 on his head, and around 19 cases registered against him.
