PyeongChang, February 26: After two weeks of athleticism and national pride, the 2018 Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang, South Korea, are drawing to a close in spectacular fashion with a brilliant closing ceremony.

Pyeongchang organizers promised that the Olympic Stadium, which seats 35,000, will be "filled with the roar of compliments and the applause of friendship."

The organizers have also thanked each and everyone who made this event grand and successful by using social media as a tool.

The ceremony also looks ahead to Japan — Tokyo is slated to host the Summer Olympics in 2020 — and to China. In 2022, Beijing will become the first city to host both the Summer and Winter Olympic Games.

As per latest available reports, Norway topped the medal tally with 14 Gold, 14 Silver and Eleven Bronze medals. Germany was second with 14 Gold, 10 Silver and Seven Bronze.

Canada followed next in the third place with a tally of Eleven Gold, Eight Silver, and Ten Bronze. The United States was in the fourth spot with a haul of nine Gold, eight Silver, and six Bronze.

Meanwhile, Russia has been denied the opportunity to march under their own flag in the closing ceremony after the IOC ruled that doping violations in PyeongChang had marred their report card.
