Security forces bust two terrorist hideouts in Poonch district of JK; recovers huge cache of arms, ammunition

Srinagar, February 27: Security forces on Monday busted two terrorist hideouts in Haribudha and Bhatidhar forests in Mendhar and Surankote belts of Poonch district and recovered a huge quantity of arms and ammunition along with the explosive material. Notably, intensified efforts from security forces to eradicate terrorists and terrorism from Jammu and Kashmir continues in full swing.

 

In two separate joint search operations, a team of the Indian Army and a team of the Jammu and Kashmir Police busted two terrorist hideouts and recovered a large cache of weapons, ammunition and other war-like stores in Haribudha and Bhatidhar forests in Mendhar and Surankote belts of Poonch district.

During the search operation, two pistols, grenades of various types, including rocket-propelled grenades and UBGL grenades, communication equipment, GPS, 11 Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) and explosives, ammunition of AK-47 and other warlike stores were recovered. Indian currency worth 50,000 rupees was also recovered.

A week before, security forces busted a terrorist hideout and recovered a huge quantity of arms and ammunition from Kupwara district of Jammu and Kashmir. This comes few days after Indian security forces eliminated one terrorist and foiled a major infiltration attempt along the Line of Control in Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir.

Earlier, in December last year, Jammu and Kashmir police two hideouts and arrested a hardcore associate of the terrorists belonged to Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT) in Kupwara district of Jammu and Kashmir. Anti-Terrorism operation is continued with such a speed that at least 206 terrorists were eliminated by Indian troops last year in Jammu and Kashmir.
