Center sanctions Rs 700 Cr for construction of rural roads in Arunachal Pradesh

Itanagar, February 28: To improvise the rural roads in Arunachal Pradesh and making easy travel more convenient, the Union Ministry of Rural Development has sanctioned Rs 706.47 crore for the construction of 43 roads and 15 bridges in Arunachal Pradesh under the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY).

 
Previewing the entire area, it is estimated that a total of 685 km of roads and 577 metres of bridges will be constructed out of the sanctioned amount. Chief Minister Pema Khandu assured the Union government that the funds sanctioned will be judiciously utilized and the projects will be completed well in time

Chief Minister Pema Khandu has thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the grant and said his concern for Arunachal Pradesh in terms of connectivity is evident from the positive gesture. Further he added that the State is rising under the able and dynamic leadership of Mr Modi and with such continuous support Arunachal Pradesh shall transform itself at par with other developed states.

Khandu also thanked the Union Minister for Rural Development Narendra Singh Tomar for keeping his promise and sanctioning critical projects of rural connectivity.
