NIA registers case in connection with fidayeen attack on CRPF training centre in Pulwama district of JK

New Delhi, February 28: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Tuesday registered a case in connection with the fidayeen attack on a CRPF training centre in Jammu and Kashmir's Pulwama district in which five personnel were martyred.

 

Notably, the NIA registered a case under sections of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, Ranbir Penal Code and the Arms Act in connection with the fidayeen attack on a CRPF training centre in Jammu and Kashmir. However, the case was registered following a directive of the Home Ministry.

NIA in an official release said, “In compliance of the MHA, Govt. of India Order, dated 26th Feb 2018, the NIA has re-registered case FIR No. 150/2017 dated 31.12.2017, PS Awantipura, J&K, under sections 459, 460, 307 of Ranvir Penal Code, sections 7 & 27 of Arms Act and sections 16, 18 & 20 of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, 1967 as NIA case RC-10/2018/NIA/DLI, on 27.02.108.”


On December 30 last year, a group of heavily armed terrorists attacked the CRPF Group Centre by hurling grenades and indiscriminate firing at Lethpora area of Jammu and Kashmir's Pulwama district. In this lethal attack, five CRPF personnel were martyred. Three terrorists belonged to Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) terror outfit were killed in retaliatory action by CRPF.
