Srinagar, February 5: Security forces on Monday busted a network of Pakistan-based terror outfit Jaish-e-Mohammad and arrested five over ground workers (OGW) from Awantipora town of Pulwama district. Notably, this is a result of intensified efforts of security forces to curb terrorism and terrorists from Jammu and Kashmir with an aim to bring peace, law and order in the valley.

Security forces including Awantipora Police, Army and CRPF busted a network of Pakistan-based terror outfit Jaish-e-Mohammad and arrested five over ground workers (OGW) from the area. Arms and ammunition including some grenades have been recovered from their possession. The apprehended Jaish module was involved in grenade throwing incidents in Pampore and Khrew area of Jammu and Kashmir.

A police official said that in a joint operation led by Awantipora Police, Army and CRPF have busted a JeM module and arrested five OGWs from Awantipora area of the district. Importantly, the Jaish-e-Muhammed (JeM), in the last month, declared India as its number one enemy. This declaration was made by Maulana Talha Siaf, the brother of JeM founder Maulana Masood Azhar at a rally in Larkana, Sindh.

Earlier, on January 16 this year, Jammu and Kashmir police four over ground worker (OGW) of terrorists from north Kashmir’s Kupwara district. Interestingly, the Indian security forces have led a massive war against terrorism and terrorists in the inner parts of Jammu-Kashmir and forward areas. Therefore, Anti-Terrorism operation is continued with such a speed that more than 206 terrorists were eliminated by Indian troops last year.
